Not too far away from the newly-repurposed temporary accommodation block, BBC London met Joe Devine from Thames Reach, a London-based charity which helps those experiencing homelessness.He and his colleagues were doing outreach work at a park in Hillingdon, where an encampment of asylum seekers were living in tents.

He said they come out to engage with people who are sleeping rough, and try to help them into temporary - or other appropriate - accommodation.

He added: "We can then work to address whatever support needs they might have."Two fire engines, plus an off-road Unimog and water carrier attended and crews worked to prevent the spread of the fire.

A spokesperson said smoke levels had reduced and nearby residents could open doors and windows again.One crew remained on site overnight and the fire service said the fire had now been extinguished.

It said the cause of the fire was not yet known and no casualties had been reported.The lorry has now been moved to another part of the site.
